The 5th Annual San Antonio Ride 4 Troops
Bike run to raise funds for the San Antonio Fisher Houses, supporting our Service Members and their Families
Some history about our event:
A group of non affiliated personnel (Acitve Duty/Retired/Civilian) who wanted to have fun, fellowship and do something for our Service Members and their Families. So, they started this ride in 2006 and it has been going ever since. The first year we had 96 riders and raised $1000 for the Fisher Houses. In 2007 we had 126 riders and donated $3000. In 2008 we had 198 riders and donated $7000. I was deployed in 2009 and my brethren kept up the ride and donated close to $5000. This year our goal is $15000 and 300 riders. The more the merrier!
The 5th Annual San Antonio Ride 4 Troops benefits the San Antonio Fisher Houses at Lackland and BAMC. As an active duty Service member for over 28 years, I have seen firsthand how the Fisher Houses support our Service Members and their Families. Ultimately speeding up recovery and reducing the burden placed upon the Family Members.
This year’s ride is on the 28th of August starting at Caliente Harley Davidson off of Loop 410. We will then ride to Javelina Harley Davidson off of I-10 where we will stop to listen to some music from a live band (Destruction Evolution) enjoy some refreshments and then leave for our final leg to Texas Pride BBQ in Adkins, Tx off of loop 1604. There we will do the raffles, recognize our supporters and wrap up a day of fun and enjoyment. Registration starts at 0800 and ends at 0900. Early registration can be done via our website (www.saride4troops.org) or by mailing in the registration form. Early registration is $20 and after 14 August it will be $25.
All donations are accepted. Anyone with questions or desiring sponsorship paperwork can contact us via email at SAride4troops@att.net or by calling 830-491-1354 or 214-908-0934. 100% of registration fees are donated to the Fisher Houses.
This is a way to support our Armed Forces, the Wounded Warriors and their Families. Please join us for a day of fun, riding and festivities. Four wheelers (Cars/trucks) are welcome to join us. There will be a procession that follows the rider’s through the ride.
