Our Goal at 'Biker Living'...
Is to bridge the gaps of all facets of our riding communities... to help us all become a "People" as 'True Few Casey' likes to call us... and the way we do that is to share the stories, tales and local event information of all the folks that love to ride around here! WE HELP PROMOTE a healthy upbeat outlook of YOUR incredibly personable riding community... and beyond... so that you can more interestingly participate in it yourself!
This cool little local rag, has been about the local riders of Austin and the surrounding area... when the Second Road Trip began rolling out we expanded a bit to take in more Central Texas communities... and right now, we are gearin' up to expand again... into West Texas, Eastern New Mexico and probably even beyond... folks in East Texas have asked to be a part of this... so we are just opening it up and along with you, are gonna see where the road takes us!
Biker Living is printed once monthly and can be picked up FREE of charge at many locations in and around Austin, in fact as far north as Temple and Harker Heights and as far south as Gruene and New Braunfels beginning on or about the 4th of each month. Watch for some mew locations in our Third Road Trip, beginning in November 08... as we reach into other areas and begin to grow even more!
Hey... it's for, by and about you... become Biker Living! Each issue is created by reader input and is as much an enjoyment and surprise to us as it is to our readers each road stop! Almost everything we receive by the middle of the month gets into the next issue, so come on... send us your stuff too!
'Have an upcoming event listing that
you'd like folks to know about?
Simply email us the information... everything you know, all the enticing stuff... and we'll get it into the next issue... in fact you are welcome to send us the info months in advance if you have anything to share... and we'll mention it's coming up... once you have all the info, we'll make sure it gets completely put into the correct issue!
FYI: We've created the center page of the print publication to be pulled out if you like... it contains all the information in the little rag... you can stash it in your wallet for easy reference, to meetings, Bike Nights, Biker Friendly Businesses and of course all the upcoming events!
Hey, were you there at a special benefit event last month? Maybe you're in Biker Living... In fact, take a look through the pages of Biker Living and you may recognize many faces and places... it'll be hard to put the 'little rag' down, I promise!
Got an interesting story to share, a trip you went on or are getting ready for... the inspirations, the adventures... what ever it is, we all want to hear... and perhaps be inspired to share our own!
Get to know your local riding community better... Independents,
Motorcycle Clubs, Riding Groups and Associations... each in their own words!
If you've ever wondered what the different Motorcycle Clubs are about, what an Association does, where a Riding Group gathers... and more... we've got answers in each issue:
Biker Living generally brings you information on a different motorcycle club, riding group or association each issue. We feel highlighting a different segment each month will begin to broaden everyone’s understanding & consideration of what makes this incredible riding community tick.... or roll, should I say...
We also feel the best way to do that is to have the particular entity write their own article and submit their own photos to be printed. If any members of such, are interested and authorized by their membership of any of these entities to participate, please feel free to submit your approved information to us at: bikerliving@sbcglobal.net
Our Advertisers... WOW!
Quite frankly, we'd be nothing without them... this little rag got started on the two quarters in my back pocket and two local advertisers that had faith in my dream... and the bikers of Austin TX... it is only with the advertising dollars from local biker-friendly businesses that want you to all know they appreciate your patronage and support your passsion of riding, that we are able to publish and distribute each month...
PLEASE, take note of who these advertisers are and when doing business with them, let them know you saw their ad or listing in the pages of Biker Living... tell 'em thanks, whether it's the owner, a mechanic or salesperson... just let them know we all appreciate their support... it'll make them smile and it'll ensure future issues get printed!
ALSO... check out the 'Spokes in our wheels...' tab of this website's index, for easy access links to our supporting advertisers' websites!
AND there's more!
We have some real long time riders among us... and some newbies too and we all have something to share, could learn or just want to know... so we include some regular features contributed by local riders just lke you that have some expertise we could all use and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy their writing styles as much as the rest of us...
To help keep the local bikers safe and road ready, not to mention some of the best riders on the road, we have 'Tex' Gillespie offering helpful hints of Safety & Preparedness on our 'Treadbits' page... and they are some great ideas for group discussion or just continuing biker education too!
'Spiritual Spokes of Wisdom'... a short column written by a different contributor each month... often times it's Chaplains that are members of the local clubs, groups or associations, etc... but is open to anyone with some inspirational message to share... if that includes you and you'd like to offer your words... simply email us at bikerliving@yahoo.com and we'll get you into an upcoming issue... our cutoff date is the 18th of each month!
Most recently, we've added 'Grease Talk'... so if you are a local motorcycle tech or builder and have been itchin' to get some advice out to local riders about how to care for their bikes etc... this is your chance... email it, along with a couple photos and your contact info, including business name and we'll highlight you in that spot!
Hey, wanna know more? Simply drop us an email at bikerliving@yahoo.com then we'll see you out on the road.... and remember, ride defensively... C.
