On May 23rd, there was an organized ride for Motorcycle Safety & Awareness as well as to pay tribute to the motorcyclists in Phoenix Arizona who were killed when a dump truck ran over a group of eight riders as they waited at a red stop light. The local meet up groups organized the rides across the country. In Austin as well as other areas of Texas, hundreds of riders wore brightly colored shirts and rode through traffic in small groups, waving at drivers to get their attention, to hopefully make some of them aware of the number of motorcycles in their midst.
