512·296 ·1920... 24/7
These numbers hold the luck of the Irish for any of you who may one day find themselves and their motorcycle stranded by the side of the road and wish they knew someone to call... These numbers, 512 · 296 · 1920, will dial you directly to Jimmy Conner, owner of Leprechaun Motorcycle Transport... one wish granted.
No, Jimmy isn’t a leprechaun, though he does sport those kind of whiskers, he does have a bit of pep to his walk, a jovial attitude and he does have a genuine heart of gold... he’s as real a person as they come, friendly, ready to listen to his customers needs and there for you, especially if you are stuck on the side of the road.
Jimmy Conner is a true Texan too... born in Buda, grew up in Creedmoor, went to High School in Del Valle... then off to the military for seventeen years. He’s the kind of guy that would ride a Unicycle 20 miles round trip in a March of Dimes walk... he believes in his community, his country and the place God has in it all... “In God We Trust” is proudly displayed on the back of his truck. He says... “It’s on our currency, I’m an American, a Believer, I like folks to know I trust in God!”
Jimmy and his wife Suzanne have been together for over thirteen years and together helped raise her six kids, his five. They have nineteen grandchildren and yet both he and Suzanne have the energy of kids themselves! I often see this trend in couples who ride together... and I personally think motorcycles do that for all people. At some point, looking for work, Jimmy hung out at the Harley dealership until they gave him a job wrenchin’ on bikes and you may have known him as a tech at Austin or Cowboy Harley-Davidson for over eight years. He may have worked on your bike.
When the AHOG chapter first got started, Jimmy became a safety officer which naturally led into taking the Rider’s Edge class.... he figured he already knew everything they could teach him but took it anyway... he said he learned far more then he thought he would, was so impressed by the class in fact, that he became an instructor and for the past 6-7 years has been teaching the Rider’s Edge course for beginners and advanced riders through Austin or Cowboy Harley-Davidson. He may have taught you or your spouse to ride! He still is involved with the dealership’s Rider’s Edge course at Cowboy Harley-Davidson.
Jimmy has been riding his whole life, his whole family rides... he said he can’t even remember when he learned or began to ride, or even when he got his first license... Jimmy’s folks, who happen to be a young couple in their 70’s took a motorcycle trip through the Northwest States and into Canada last year... they love to tour and be out on their bikes... his brothers ride too, the passion of it runs in the family!
Several years ago, Jimmy hurt his back and over time the constant wrenching, bending, twisting and pullin’ on bike parts began to wear him down... last summer he started to think about what else he could do while staying within the industry he enjoyed so much and he thought of the times he or his brothers had been stranded by the side of the road and had to wait well over an hour and a half for someone to show up to help them out, only to have some big old flatbed wrecker designed for haulin’ cars come to their rescue... Jimmy felt there was a need for a little help in the local motorcycle transport business and being a tech, understanding the love you have for your bike, he decided he could handle a stranded bike and it’s owner with the kind of care he’d appreciate himself... so was born Leprechaun Motorcycle Transport.
Leprechaun Motorcycle Transport service is available 24/7, if you need him, call him, he’ll be there as quickly as he can safely get there... His trailer is equipped to haul two bikes if needed and often folks schedule a pickup or delivery to the dealership etc during business hours but his first interest when he answers your call is to make sure you are not in any danger where you are, that you feel safe. You become his top priority over a scheduled pickup if you are in a bad situation... he told me about how a fellow broke down at the curve off 360 and Mopac near Barton Springs Mall in Austin... Jimmy said even with his trucks lights flashing and orange cones out, it was a nervous ordeal loading the bike onto his trailer, the way traffic rushes through there. He wouldn’t want someone to have to be in that situation any longer then necessary.
Jimmy Conner is a family guy, a really great guy to do business with. He supports Biker Living and the riding community... he’s the kind of guy you’ll make friends with, and over the years so will your other friends... so if you ever find yourself on the side of the road wishing you knew someone with a truck & a trailer... it’s simple... five one two - two nine six - nineteen twenty. Wish granted. Be safe, ride defensively!
